My Car Usb Ports Cannot Read My Usb Flash Player

  • #1
Hello, my commencement time posting here. I take an issue with my 128g Samsung flash drive when I plug it in my usb port inside my car and it comes out to proverb "mistake". The very first time I got this flash drive, I put music on it and it played perfectly fine in my car. After transferring files on this flash drive I had to format my wink drive to NTFS (considering the file I was trying to transfer was to large to transfer on exFAT). Later on doing that I realized my flash bulldoze stopped working in my car and gave me these errors. I tried reformatting it dorsum to its default format and it even so gives me the aforementioned error message in my car. The simply file system I take is NTSF and exFAT for this flash bulldoze. Any suggestions?

I have snooped around the forum trying to find some solutions, but couldn't find any that would ready that problem. Thank you.

No trouble, but if information technology was a 4GB + file and you couldn't write information technology because of the restriction, then it definitely was a FAT32 file organization. Seem like you car audio organization does not support devices with NTFS or exFAT. And then go direct with formatting the whole flash drive with the FAT32 file system. Hither'south a helpful article on the bailiwick: http://world wide web.makeuseof.com/tag/format-large-difficult-drive-fat-fat32/

Hey there, Paul.

This is a bit unusual. Basically exFAT does non accept the limitation of FAT32 (which means that you should've been able to write a file larger than 4GB), then are you sure that the flash drive was not formatted with the FAT32 system before?
Basically y'all could try reformatting it with exFAT past using another computer, to run across if the aforementioned thing happens again. Other than that you lot could endeavor deleting its partition by using Disk Management and then when you endeavour to format information technology create a partition with less thena 32GB so that you have the FAT32 option available. Give this a endeavor and if it work download a third political party sectionalisation tool in gild to be able to create one large partition with the FAT32 File Arrangement, since with Disk Management you lot can create the express size of 32GB.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how it goes.

Aye, I don't know. I bought this flash drive new from amazon and transferring music was no problem and videos besides, until I got to 1 video that was about 4 sum gigs and information technology wouldn't allow me. That's when I researched and found out how to format it to ntsf and then the video would transfer over. What's weird also is that after formatting it one time to ntsf, it also wouldn't read on ps4 from what my brother told me. I'll effort what yous've suggested and I'll get dorsum to yous with results :^)

No trouble, but if information technology was a 4GB + file and you couldn't write it because of the restriction, and so it definitely was a FAT32 file system. Seem similar you car sound system does non back up devices with NTFS or exFAT. So get straight with formatting the whole flash drive with the FAT32 file organisation. I tried the article above and I did the format through cmd and it took couple hours and once it reached 100%, all it said was The volume is too big for FAT32.
Format failed. I am not familiar with formatting these things, but I'll wait around what else I could exercise. And to mention, this usb used to work perfectly fine on exFAT in my car the very first time I got information technology. It's after I formatted it ntsf once and subsequently that it stopped. Even dorsum to exFAT. And then I don't perhaps think it's my cars audio system. I think..

Okay, I have fixed the issue. I used this website: http://world wide web.jdhodges.com/blog/format-fat32-on-64gb-128gb-256gb-usb-wink-drives-on-windows/ to help my trouble where it would play in my car. After this procedure was completed, it says that the usb is now FAT32 file system. You lot were probably right Boogieman, I just had no idea exactly what I had to exercise hah, but now it seems to exist at default merely as I start got it. I appreciate the help :) Sorry for all the inconveniences as I am new to these formatting things, only definitely learned something out of it. Thank y'all!

No inconvenience any. Good chore on figuring things out past yourself.

Basically the 3rd party tools from the other commodity should have worked, only you never know, the important matter is that everything is up and running.
This is not an uncommon things with older players, TVs and AV equipment in item. Most of them don't back up NTFS like the newer models and even some relevantly new devices yet go with FAT32 only.

You can find out more than about FAT32, NTFS and exFAT, from here if you lot are interested: http://world wide web.howtogeek.com/235596/whats-the-difference-betwixt-fat32-exfat-and-ntfs/

For future reference, you lot can always contact me when you have issues like that or come to the forum, there's always someone who will offer assistance. :)

Cheers!

fat32 is for drives 32gbs or less. To get anything bigger than a 32gbs drive try fat32format. ridgecrop consultants Ltd click on "here" then follow instructions just make sure the drive that has been chosen is the one you want reformatted. Hope this helps & good luck
